Two huge topiary bushes nestled in gigantic terracotta pots – this is horticulture on a grand scale. Passers by will be surprised and delighted by the mischievous Gilbert and Norbert – the garden fairies that live within the bushes who are waiting to solve all of your gardening problems.

They are on a mission to get the nation fit using only their enthusiasm, a roving musical pommel horse and some PE kits rescued from the lost and found locker. From star jumps to long jumps, you too can be a winner and enjoy the emotions of the medal podium! Remember it’s not about the taking part, it’s the winning that counts!

Leek FM’s expert gardeners Pete and Ged Moss (complete with musical wheelbarrow) are on hand to answer all your horticultural and healthy lifestyle queries with their very own version of Gardeners’ Question Time.– Do you know the difference between your rose bush and Kate Bush?

THE DINNERLADIES
Good-time girls Freda and Rita are on hand to serve up a large dollop of foody fun from their gorgeous gingham-clad serving trolley. Their culinary capers will entertain and their giant turkey will wow the crowds. From fingernail checks to orderly line (dancing) these luscious ladies will spread their healthy eating message using comedy, music and dance. So remember to eat your five a day… two chocolate oranges, two toffee apples and a helping of Black Eyed Peas!

Shrimp fisherman Bill Insgate and his Fisherman Friend aboard HMS MDF will entertain the crowds with their tall tales of fishing prowess including how to flip a flounder and catch a cockle!

DJ booth
Presenting DJ Booth, Vince Vinyl and the “Wheels of Steel” mobile disco and cabaret. Experience Saturday Night Fever and Sunday Night at the Palladium rolled in to one big glitzy ball of music, mullets and bingo-calling. If it is vol-au-vents, cheesy music and a slow dance number that you hanker for, then this is the act for you!

Two dashing, bearded, sea shanty-singing pirates, recruit new shipmates by wooing the crowds from aboard their barnacled covered ship.

Dutch dry-land synchronized swimming sensations, the Van Dunk Brothers, will delight crowds with their award-winning display, armed only with a trunk full of trunks, swimming caps, goggles, armbands and veruca cream. Marvel as the boys perform the routine that won the Brothers the gold medal at the Olympic Games, World Championships and Burnley Baths Swimming Gala, using only a kitsch soundtrack, physical comedy and two bottles of still mineral water.

Prima ballerinas Fifi Pavlova and Dame Margot Fondue are bringing their passion for dance on to the streets. These Tutu-clad divas will teach the general public how to perfect their demi-plies, pirouettes and first positions (Tutus and Barre will be provided.)

A guaranteed crowd pleaser, our heroes bear gifts of yellow Y-fronts from far away galaxies, the audience will find themselves in a cosmic, comic game show with a mind-bending, crowd-pulling finale.
Remember not all superheroes wear capes but we do (well for at least half the performance).

THE UMPIRES STRIKE BACK
Get ready to stand by for a “Leg-bye,” shout more for “four” as two of England’s finest umpires lay down the cricketing law on the wicket / streets of Britain. Howzat!
The Umpires provide a humorous / visual photo opportunity for the spectators. We get members of the crowd dressed up in cricket gear and talk about our favourite cricket teas, juggle cricket balls and generally have good cricket banter with the crowd. It is all about creating a fun atmosphere, tapping into the crowd’s cricketing psyche!

LORD OF THE BINS
